NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the week one regional cross country polls Wednesday Sept. 22, with the Georgia College & State University women hanging on to the No. 9 spot.

Georgia College has placed third in two races thus far in the young 2010 fall season. Senior Dani Destiche (Snellville, Ga.) led the way for the Bobcats in both races, finishing seventh in the Bobcat Classic with a time of 21:37 and finishing ninth in Mercer’s RunFit Invitational with a time of 20:40.

The top three remain the same with Peach Belt Conference (PBC) champions Columbus State University taking top honors in the Southeast Region. Queens University (N.C.) and Lenoir-Rhyne University (N.C.) round off the top three, with PBC foe Augusta State University falling to No. 5.
