PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (6-2, 2-1 PBC) took three tight sets at UNC Pembroke (2-10, 0-4 PBC) picking up a win on the road Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats won the sets 25-22, 25-22 and 25-21.
"We faced a strong UNC Pembroke team but were able to come out on top," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "We had a balanced attack and a lot of people elevated their respective games to win in three today."
Junior Ebony Powers (Jacksonville, Florida) led the attack with 13 kills on a great .297 hitting. She was flanked by 11 from freshman Libby Bochniak (Marietta) and nine kills from Taylor Svehla (Cumming).
The Bobcats hit a very clean .244 for the match, including .350 in the first set.
GC Volleyball is back in action Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., playing host to Lander University for the team's annual Sea of Green Night.
