MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (4-1) showed little signs of rust despite not having a match in the last two weeks, dropping Paine College (0-3) in straight sets Saturday at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats took the three sets in convincing fashion, 25-12, 25-12 and 25-16.

Junior Taylor Svehla (Cumming) dropped down 10 kills to lead the team, hitting an impressive .368. Freshman Emily Pope (Canton) supported the cause with a career-best seven kills.

Junior Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) ran a great offense, finishing with 34 assists. She added four kills, three aces and a block assist to aid the scoring. Leading the squad in digs was senior Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah).

The Bobcat defense was strong, only allowing the Lions one set with hitting percentage over .000.

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m., traveling to Augusta University to begin Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play.
