MARTINEZ, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University soccer team (10-5-5, 5-1-4 PBC) climbed one spot to No. 9 in the NCAA Southeast Region Poll, while standing its ground in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Regional Poll, resting at No. 10.
The Bobcats jumped from the No. 10 slot to the No. 9 position this week after beating USC Aiken in overtime 2-1 and tying the University of Montevallo 1-1. The tie gave Georgia College the number four seed in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) playoffs, where the Bobcats beat North Georgia 2-1 Nov. 3. North Georgia was slotted eighth in last week's region poll.
In addition to Georgia College, three other PBC teams made the NCAA regional list. Columbus State University was downgraded to second while Armstrong Atlantic State University and Lander University remained in the fourth and seventh spots.
Georgia College returns to action Friday, Nov. 6 in Evans, Ga. for the semifinal round of the PBC Tournament facing Montevallo again at 7:30.
