Jaguar Defense Stymies Bobcat Women, 50-31

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball team (9-6, 5-3 PBC) struggled to find an offensive flow Monday evening during the Battle of the Cats III at Augusta State University (12-2, 6-2 PBC), falling 50-31.

Enisha Donley (Loganville, Ga.) led the Bobcats with 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field, she also added eight rebounds to her final stat line. Brandi McKinney (Cincinnati) had 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting with seven rebounds and four steals.

As a team, the Bobcats shot 13-of-51 from the field and 1-of-12 from behind the arc, compared to 20-of-50 and 6-of-16 for the Jaguars. The Bobcats won the rebound battle 40-28, but would turn the ball over 27 times compared to the Jaguars' 18.

The Jaguars were led offensively by Brittany White and Becky Newhouse, who each scored 12 points. Taylor Ayers chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds. Newhouse also added eight steals, while White finished with six.

The game was the third edition of the Battle of the Cats; the Bobcats won the first matchup during the 2010-11 season 71-39 and the Jaguars would take the second Battle of the Cats 45-33 a year ago.

The Bobcats will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. when they hit the road again, this time to take on USC Aiken.
