Okvist and Burnett Make Noise in Record Books

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Two Georgia College softball (23-19, 7-7 PBC) student-athletes have made their marks on GC and Peach Belt Conference (PBC) history this season.

Whitney Okvist's (Kennesaw, Ga.) GC single-season stolen base record (48) leads the PBC this year, and her career number sits at 72, which is the all-time GC record. The sophomore’s single-season effort is tied for third in PBC history; the seven-year-old record is 56. She is currently ranked No. 7 in the nation with her 48 stolen bases.

Okvist also broke the single game PBC hits record with a 6-for-6 effort against Young Harris College. She is currently second in the conference with a .420 batting average.

Senior Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) is currently fourth on the all-time home run list at GC with 22, two behind first place in GC history.

The Bobcats pick up PBC play against No. 13 North Georgia Tuesday, April 10 at 4 p.m. and then return home for Senior Day against Lander University Friday, April 13 at 3 p.m.
