GC Baseball’s Belcher to Coach at College of Charleston

Former Bobcat Pitching Coach Nolan Belcher

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston Baseball program and head coach Chad Holbrook announced the addition of former Georgia College pitching coach and recruiting coordinator Nolan Belcher to the coaching staff for the Division I Cougars.

Belcher spent two outstanding seasons in the Bobcat dugout, helping the Bobcats to a pair of Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Championships, the 2018 PBC Regular-Season Title and two trips to the NCAA Tournament. The Bobcats reached as high as No. 1 in the nation last season, with Belcher's pitching staff setting a school record in strikeouts.

He helped guide the 2018 PBC and Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year in All-American Charlie Hecht, as well as a pair of All-PBC relievers in Grant Khan and Bradly Cammack.

"Nolan is a winner in every sense of the word," Holbrook said.  "He is a two-time national champion [with South Carolina] and has enjoyed tremendous success throughout his entire baseball career.  As a young coach, he was an instrumental part of successful teams at USC Aiken and Georgia College.  Last year's Georgia College team went 44-12, including an incredible 26-4 record in the Peach Belt Conference, while winning the regular season and tournament championships. We are thrilled to add Nolan to our coaching staff, and we welcome him and his wife Rachel to the Cougar Family!"
