MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Get an update on former Georgia College student-athletes working their way through the ranks of professional baseball. 

Josh Taylor (2014)
Pitcher for the Portland Sea Dogs, the Boston Red Sox Class Double-A affiliate in the Eastern League … Started season with Class-A Advanced Visalia Rawhide, traded to the Red Sox organization after going 1-2 with a 2.81 ERA over 14 relief appearances … Added 20 strikeouts over 16 innings for the Rawhide … Has pitched in 28 games for Portland, going 2-4 with a 3.56 ERA and six saves in eight opportunities … Totaled 29 whiffs in 30 1/3 innings … Has one earned run over his last 10 appearances … Picked up a win against the Akron Aeros Aug. 10, tossing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief … Portland is 54-70, sixth in the Eastern Division Standings. 

Brandon Benson (2017) 
Outfielder for the Peoria Chiefs, Class A League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Midwest League … Has played in 21 games since his callup, going 16-for-72 with two home runs, six runs and seven RBIs … Swatted his first Peoria home run Aug. 3 against the Cedar Rapids Kernels … Was the Player of the Night Aug. 6, going 2-for-4 with a walk-off win … Peoria is 32-23, good for second in the Western Division Standings. 

Logan Mattix (2018)
Outfielder for the Tri-City ValleyCats, Class A Short affiliate of the Houston Astros in the New York-Penn League … Has made an immediate impression on his new team after playing 44 games for the Quad Cities River Bandits … In three games, he is hitting .417 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored … His first professional home run came with Quad Cities in a win over West Michigan July 21 … Went 2-for-4 with a solo blast for Tri-City Aug. 18 against Lowell … Tri-City is 34-27, tops in the Stedler Division Standings. 

Brandon Purcell (2018)
Catcher for the Gulf Coast Cardinals, Rookie League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Gulf Coast League … Has seen action in 21 games, hitting .262 with three home runs, 20 RBIs and eight runs … His most recent home run came Aug. 5 against the GCL Nationals, a three-run shot as part of a 17-7 Cardinals win … The Cardinals are 37-16, clinching the East Division title. 

Brandt Stallings (2018)
Outfielder for the Greeneville Reds of the Rookie Appalachian League after spending 12 games with the Billings Mustangs, another Rookie League affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds in the Pioneer League … Has played in 16 games for Greeneville, going 5-for-35 with two home runs, four RBIs and 11 runs scored … Tagged his first professional home run July 16, adding another July 25 … Greeneville is 26-34, fourth in the West Division Standings. 

Michael Antonini (2007)
Pitcher for the Somerset Patriots in the independent Atlantic League … Has made 35 relief appearances, owing a team-best 1.04 ERA and a 3-2 record with 47 strikeouts in 43 innings … Owns a 0.72 WHIP and a .138 opponent batting average … Has allowed one run in his last 19 appearances … Somerset won the Liberty Division in the first half with a 35-28 record and is second in the second half with a 22-18 mark.

Daniel Bick (2014)
Shortstop for the Ottawa Champions in the independent CanAm League … Hitting .280 with 38 RBIs, five home runs and 48 runs scored … Has 30 extra-base hits among his 89 over the 83 games … Went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored against Quebec Aug. 21 … Ottawa is 39-50, positioned sixth in the league standings.
