Bobcat Women's Cross Country Team and Individuals Receive All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La.—The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coach's Association (USTFCCCA) rewarded the Bobcat Women's Cross Country team with NCAA Division II Cross Country All-Academic Honors. Three Bobcats on the team also stood out and received All-Academic Individual Honors as well.

As a team, the Bobcat Women held a GPA of 3.54 for the 2016 season which was higher than several other schools for NCAA Division II Cross Country. The Women's Cross Country team also boasts the third-highest team GPA at Georgia College.

Along with the team, three recipients received All-Academic Honors as individuals, freshman Kaitlyn Griffith (Cumming, Georgia), freshman Anna Tipton (Cumming, Georgia) and junior Katherine Yost (Norcross, Georgia).

The Bobcat Women's Cross Country team finished sixth of 13 at the PBC Championship during the 2016 season. The team also went on to compete in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championship taking 11th in the region.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
