NEW ORLEANS – Sophomore cross country star Allison Lones (Kathleen, Ga.) was recently named to the 2011 Division II United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.
Lones, a pre-nursing major, earned Second Team All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) honors for the second consecutive year with her 11th place finish at the PBC Championships.
She also became the first All-Region runner in Georgia College history, finishing 19th at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
She was GC’s top runner throughout the year, leading the ‘Cats in every race while recording the top 6K time in school history (23:08) at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
A PBC Bronze scholar her freshman year, Lones was a PBC All-Academic honorable mention this year.
