Bobcat Women’s Cross Country puts Three on All-PBC Academic Team
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s cross country team put three on the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Academic Team as announced by the conference Friday.
The three positions were second for the most selections behind Flagler College at four.
Junior Victoria Dobson (New Hamburg, Ontario) owns the team’s best GPA with a 3.64 in English. Dani Destiche (Snellville, Ga.) is the only senior on the squad for Georgia College with a 3.63 GPA in outdoor education and junior Sarah Balkcom (Fayetteville, Ga.) concludes the list for the Bobcats achieving a 3.37 GPA in health education.
The senior Destiche leads the program with her third selection to this academic honor. For Balkcom and Dobson, it’s the second time they’ve earned a slot on the PBC All-Academic team, after both earning third team honors in 2009.
To be eligible for the all-academic team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor, achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.
The Bobcats are back in action Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. at the PBC Championships in Evans, Ga.
