Women’s Cross Country Holding #9 Regional Position

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) announced the week two regional cross country polls Wednesday, Sept. 29. The Georgia College & State University women’s cross country team is holding the No. 9 spot in the Southeast Region for the second-straight week.

Georgia College women’s cross country took third at the Will Wilson Invitational this weekend, marking the third race placing third in the 2010 season. In Charleston, freshman Allison Lones (Kathleen, Ga.), stood out for the Bobcats, finishing in ninth place with the time of 20:44.

The top three teams are the same as week one and preseason with 2009 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) champions Columbus State University holding first.  Queens University (N.C.) and Lenoir-Rhyne are second and third, respectively. Anderson University is fourth while PBC foe Augusta State University is holding the No. 5 for the second-straight week.
