Women’s Cross Country takes Ninth in the USTFCCCA Poll
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the preseason regional cross country polls Tuesday, with the Georgia College & State University women’s team taking ninth.
Georgia College and Head Coach Joe Samprone welcome back seven returners, including former All-PBC runner, Dani Destiche (Snellville, Ga.). Bobcat cross country is excited about the five incoming freshman recruits and think they can make an immediate impact.
Peach Belt Conference (PBC) champions Columbus State University take top honors in the Southeast Region. Queens University (N.C.) and Lenoir-Rhyne University (N.C.) round off the top three, with PBC foe Augusta State University taking fourth. PBC teams Clayton State University and the University of Montevallo also make the top-10 in eight and 10th, respectively.
Bobcat cross country’s first meet is the Bobcat Invitational Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, back-to-back winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
