GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament started with a bang Saturday, as No. 5-seed Georgia College (15-11) topped No. 4-seed and defending champion Flagler College (12-15) in four sets.
The Bobcats advance to the PBC Semifinals, where No. 1-seed USC Aiken awaits today at 4 p.m.
Georgia College started hot, taking the first two sets 25-20 and 25-19. Flagler rebounded to take the third 25-20, but a dominant 25-13 fourth closed the match.
Setting all of this action was All-PBC senior Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida), finishing with 53 assists, her third match with 50-plus this season, matching her season-high. The 53 helps sets the school record for four-set matches, topping the prior mark of 50 set by Micayla Patterson in 2013.
The Bobcats beat the Saints for just the second time in program history, with the series history now at 12-2.
GC Volleyball advances to take on the USCA Pacers. The Bobcats dropped both matches with USCA this season.
