AUGUSTA, Ga. – For the first time in program history, Georgia College has placed a student-athlete on the Volleyball Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Team, that honor going to Taylor Svehla (Cumming) Monday.
Svehla takes a slot on the seven-member team, joining five former All-PBC players, including one All-American and two All-Region honorees.
The 2015 PBC Co-Freshman of the Year, Svehla she played in all 31 matches for the Bobcats with 2.85 kills and 0.81 blocks per set in 2016. She was 10th in the conference in total blocks and seventh in solo blocks, also ranking 10th in the league in kills per set while boasting 17 matches of double-figure kills. A complete student-athlete, she was named to the PBC All-Academic Team in 2016, her first season of eligibility for the squad.
Svehla and the Bobcats get their season underway Friday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. hosting Emmanuel College.
