Women’s Tennis Announces 2011 Spring Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College women’s tennis and head coach Steve Barsby are pleased to announce the 2011 spring schedule. The schedule includes eight of the top-30 teams in the nation.
The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) will be tough as always this season, with six teams ranked in the top-30, with the Bobcats being ranked No. 30.
The Bobcats open up their 2011 tilt at home against Clark Atlanta Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. They follow that up with their first PBC match of the season at USC Aiken set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, GC travels to No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State University for a 1 p.m. match.
Five days after that, the Bobcats come back home to Milledgeville to face off against No. 29 Augusta State University at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4 Georgia College travels to No. 13 Francis Marion University for a 1 p.m. start.
Sunday, March 20 the Bobcats have their fourth home game of the season against the University of Montevallo at noon. GC then heads to beautiful Pensacola, Fla. for their spring break trip from March 23 – 27. Georgia College will face off against No. 5 University of West Florida, No. 19 Drury University, Delta State University and the University of North Alabama.
Wednesday, March 30 the Bobcats will travel up to No. 9 Clayton State University at 2:30 p.m. GC comes back to the Centennial Center Tennis Courts to face off against Georgia Southwestern at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2. The Bobcats travel to No. 11 Columbus State University Sunday, April 3 for a 1 p.m. start.
The Bobcats cap their season off at home against No. 16 Flagler College at 2 p.m. The PBC Championships are set for April 15 – 17 in Augusta and the NCAA Tournament starts May 5 and continues through May 14.
