AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its PBC All-Academic Team for women's tennis Thursday, with Georgia College senior Ivana Marevic (Rottweil, Germany) earning a spot on the 12-member squad.
Marevic posted a 3.80 GPA in management at Georgia College, the top GPA among the eligible members of GC Women's Tennis.
Playing third singles, Marevic posted a 14-8 record this season, including a 7-5 PBC mark. She went a total of 15-11 in doubles action as well with two different partners.
In the six seasons of this award, the Bobcats have now put four student-athletes on the list. May Johnson was a two-time selection, while Diane Danna and Marevic have each been selected once.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
