#43 Bobcats Drop Just 12 Games En Route to 9-0 Win Against Clark Atlanta
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 43 Georgia College women's tennis team (14-9) finished the regular season Tuesday afternoon when they welcomed Clark Atlanta University (13-8) to the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The Bobcats controlled the entire match, winning 9-0 and only losing 12 total games, 11 in singles play and just one in doubles.
The Bobcats are on a roll, having won their last four matches and seven of their last eight.
Katie Krupp (Evans, Ga.) and Kayla Barksdale (Augusta, Ga.) took on Brionne Bachus and Vonnick Boyogueno in the top doubles position. The Bobcats dropped only one game as they came away with an 8-1 victory.
Krupp faced off against Cadena in the No. 4 slot in singles play. The Bobcat freshman made quick work of the Panther, winning 6-0, 6-0. Krupp earned her 15th win in singles play and sixth in a row.
Johnson clinched the team win with a 6-1, 6-0 downing of Jean-Baptiste. Barksdale finished right behind her with a 6-2, 6-0 win against Bachus. Johnson earned her 16th victory of the year and Barksdale got number 18.
Marevic controlled her match the entire time, as she defeated Boyogueno by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
Lingner did not lose a game, defeating Boyd 6-0, 6-0 and Murray closed the action with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Conley.
The Bobcats return to action Friday, April 12 when they take part in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament in Florence, S.C.
