No. 43 Bobcats Pace Pacers, 5-1

AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 43 Georgia College women's tennis team (12-9, 6-6 PBC) made quick work of USC Aiken (10-8, 5-7 PBC) Saturday afternoon, coming away with a 5-1 road victory. 

Kayla Barksdale (Augusta, Ga.) and Katie Krupp (Evans, Ga.) cruised to an 8-3 victory in the top doubles slot, defeating Giovanni Ramos and Shauna Williams.

Ivana Marevic (Rottweil, Germany) and May Johnson (Sydney Australia) suffered only their second loss as a pair, falling to Margot Simon and Franziska Regal 8-6.

Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) and Sarah Murray (Alpharetta, Ga.) gave the Bobcats the lead heading into singles play, downing Julia Arruda and Caitlyn Lawrence 8-3.

Marevic gave the Bobcats a 3-1 lead as she eased to a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Ramos. Barksdale followed with a 6-3, 6-1 against Regel to push the match to the breaking point.

Johnson clinched the team victory with a 6-0, 6-3 takedown of Simon.

The Bobcats finish off their Peach Belt Conference (PBC) season Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m. when they travel to take on Lander University.
