MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 43 Georgia College women's tennis team (10-8, 4-5 PBC) returned the Centennial Center Tennis Facility for the first time in the last eight matches. They faced off against UNC Pembroke (9-9, 2-9 PBC) and controlled the entire match, finishing 7-2.
Krupp finished first in singles play, taking on Herlocker in the No. 4 slot, with the freshman Bobcat coming away with the 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Johnson, playing in the No. 2 slot, clinched the team victory with the 6-4, 6-2 win against McAfee.
Barksdale had a hard-fought first set against Shelby Bickel at No. 3, but won 7-5 and then cruised to a 6-1 win in set two.
Marevic played Winterbottom to the limit in each set, but lost 7-5, 7-6. Murray played close as well against DiNunzio, but fell 4-6, 6-3, 12-10.
Lingner finished the day off with another Bobcat point, taking down Monica Espitia 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 5 slot.
The Bobcats return to the court Saturday, March 30 at 11 a.m. as they welcome No. 10 Francis Marion University to the Centennial Center.
