Pickham Named GA for Tennis Program

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University tennis teams and head coach Steve Barsby have announced the hiring of Justin Pickham as graduate assistant coach.

Pickham will aid in all aspects of the tennis program. He will be involved in on the court coaching as well as recruiting.

"Pickham's high level playing background and knowledge in strength and conditioning makes him an excellent asset to the GCSU tennis program," Barsby stated.

An All-American his senior year, Pickham went 13-4 including 6-0 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play in singles competition. He finished the season ranked No. 15 in the nation mainly playing at second singles.

Pickham and Erick Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) came one win away from the ITA Fall National Title and compiled a 16-3 mark in the spring. The duo was also a perfect 6-0 in PBC matches, adding three wins over Nationally-ranked teams. 

The GCSU Department of Athletics, winners of the 2008-09 PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
