AUGUSTA, Ga. – Being the only Peach Belt Conference (PBC) soccer team with four shutouts will get your defense recognized, and the PBC did just that this week for Georgia College Soccer (4-0) as Unnbjorg Omarsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) was named PBC Defensive Player of the Week, and Ashlee Graham (Decatur) took PBC Goalkeeper of the Week.

Graham continued her perfect start to the season with two more shutouts last week. The senior made a pair of saves in a 1-0 win over the University of Montevallo Friday.  She then made five saves Sunday as the University of West Georgia opened up with 16 total shots in another 1-0 win.  Graham has played every minute in goal this season for Georgia College, has four shutouts in four games and is the only keeper to not allow a score this season. This is the second-straight PBC weekly honor for Graham.

Omarsdottir guided the Bobcat defense to two more shutouts last week and contributed on offense. The senior curled a free kick into the upper right corner for the lone goal of the game in a win over the University of Montevallo Friday, her first strike of the season.  The Georgia College defense then continued its streak Sunday, shutting out the University of West Georgia 1-0.  Georgia College has not allowed a goal so far this season. Omarsdottir nabs the second PBC weekly honor in her career, the last coming in the final week of 2017.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m., taking on the University of Tampa in a neutral-site matchup at Valdosta State University.
