MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior goalkeeper Ashlee Graham (Decatur) made a career-high 11 saves Friday night at Bobcat Field but it wasn't enough, as the Georgia College Soccer team (1-2) fell 2-0 to Queens University (2-0-1).
Graham's 11 saves tied her career-best set twice as a freshman in 2015 in a tie with Florida Southern College and a loss to Columbus State University.
The Royals broke the scoreless tie in the 12th minute, when Thea Mallett bent a shot into the upper right corner for the 1-0 lead. Leanne Bryant doubled the advantage in the 44th minute when a ball ricocheted through the defense for her to knock it home.
Graham made nine of her 11 stops in the first half, as Queens out-shot the Bobcats 13-3. Georgia College made some adjustments at the half controlling play in the second frame to a 10-5 shot advantage. Unfortunately, the Bobcats couldn't capitalize on their chances and the match ended 2-0.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., traveling to the University of West Georgia in non-conference action.
