AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the women's soccer preseason All-PBC Team Thursday, with Georgia College seniors Abby Dalton (Macon, Ga.) and Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.) earning spots on the squad.
"I am very happy that both Ashley and Abby have been chosen to represent Georgia College on the Peach Belt Preseason All-Conference Team," said head coach Hope Clark. "This honor is well deserved for all their hard work and strong work ethic over the past three years. They are remarkable young women both on and off the playing field and they continue to showcase what our Bobcat Soccer family is all about."
The Bobcats tied with defending champion Clayton State University and Armstrong State University for the second-most players named to the preseason list, behind only Columbus State University with three.
Dalton had by far her best season as a Bobcat in 2013, scoring four goals and leading the team in assists at eight. The senior has 10 goals and 18 assists on her career. Veilleux has led the Bobcats in goals and points in each of the last three seasons, adding nine goals and one assist in 2013. She now has 23 career goals with eight helps.
Both earned NSCAA All-Region Third Team accolades in the postseason. Prior to their all-region awards, Dalton and Veilleux were named to All-Peach Belt Conference teams. Veilleux was given first place honors and Dalton second team.
