EVANS, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released their All-Conference teams Thursday. The Bobcats saw two players named to the squad with Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.) getting first team honors and Abby Dalton (Macon, Ga.) named to the second team.
Veilleux led Georgia College with seven goals during the regular season and one assist, good for 17 points on the season. This is the second time the junior midfielder has been named to the all-conference team, with the first coming during her sophomore campaign. Veilleux has 21 career goals as a Bobcat and eight assists. She also added a goal Friday, Nov. 8 in the win over No. 2-seeded Columbus State University in the PBC Semifinals.
Georgia College’s Dalton was named to the All-PBC Second Team for her efforts in her junior year. She led the Bobcats with eight assists on the season and tied for second on the team with four goals. The all-conference honor adds to the special season the junior forward has had, during which, she broke the assist record for Georgia College with 18. This marks the first All-PBC honor for Dalton.
All-time, the Bobcats have put 20 players on the All-PBC teams, an average of two per year. Head coach Hope Clark has guided five to all-conference status.
The all-conference duo and the GC Soccer team look for their first PBC Title Sunday, Nov. 10. The Bobcats will take on No. 1-seeded Clayton State University in Evans, Ga. starting at 1 p.m. In the last meeting between the Bobcats and the Lakers resulted in a 1-1 double overtime draw back on Oct. 5 at Clayton.
