MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College soccer squad is set to host “Play for Abe” night at Bobcat Field Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m., honoring Abe Gainous, son of GC men’s basketball assistant coach Mark Gainous and former Bobcat women’s basketball graduate assistant coach Tasha Gainous.
As two-year old Abe continues his battle with Childhood Leukemia, and the Bobcat staff will use the opportunity to continue to raise funds and awareness for the Gainous family.
The Bobcats will host Mark’s alma mater, Georgia Southwestern State University, Wednesday with kickoff set for 8 p.m.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
