Barys Nets Bobcat Athlete of the Week Honor

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman Ally Barys (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) of the Georgia College soccer team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 14.

The rookie netted the first three goals of her career in the second half of the Bobcats' 6-1 rout of #14 North Alabama Monday. Barys became the first Bobcat all-time to score her first career goal and a hat trick in the same contest.

She got the go-ahead goal a little over five minutes in, cracking home a loose ball inside the box. For the second Haley O'Hayer dropped a pass off to Olivia Holden in the corner, who then knocked a beautiful cross to Barys, heading it in for the 3-1 lead. The final came on a free kick, bent into the upper left corner.
