MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College soccer team (5-13, 4-6 PBC) has qualified for the 2011 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament as the No. 8-seed, traveling to No. 1-seed Armstrong (12-2-3, 9-0-1 PBC) Tuesday, Nov. 1 for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
The Bobcats battled the Pirates to a 1-0 loss in the team’s regular-season meeting Oct. 19 at Bobcat Field. Armstrong went undefeated in conference play, taking the PBC Regular Season title; they were positioned No. 18 in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire National Rankings.
The Bobcats are led on the scoring front by freshman Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.), who has 13 points on five goals and three assists. Classmate Abby Dalton (Macon, Ga.) has posted three goals and three assists to rank second on the team with nine points. Two former All-PBC players dot the GC roster in senior midfielder Karen Bonilla (Manassas, Va.) and senior defender Tawny Moffat (Peachtree City, Ga.).
