MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.) of the Georgia College soccer team (3-5, 2-0 PBC) was named the most recent Bobcat Athlete of the Week Tuesday. This marks the first such honor for Veilleux and the second for Bobcat soccer this season.
Veilleux powered the Bobcats to their first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) victory Tuesday, netting two goals and an assist for the first five-point game for GC soccer since 2008. She hit the second goal of the game on a rebound of a Tatum O’Keefe (Buford, Ga.) shot and scored her second in the second half to put the game out of reach with a penalty kick goal. She then capped the evening off with a nice breakaway assist to Karen Bonilla (Manassas, Va.) for the final goal with less than two minutes left.
Bobcat soccer is back in action Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 4:30 p.m., traveling to Lander University.
