Plunkett and Cobb Take Slots on All-Region Teams

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Junior Mary Rob Plunkett (Augusta, Ga.) and senior Morgan Cobb (Cataula, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University soccer team (10-6-5) were named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region first and second teams respectively, as announced by Daktronics today (Nov. 17). The teams are voted on by sports information directors through out the Southeast Region.

This is the first such honor for Plunkett, whose first team spot lands her on the national ballot. However, this is the second such honor for Cobb, becoming the first two-time Daktronics All-Region pick in Bobcat history. The defender was also a second team selection in 2007, her the first All-Region player in program history.

Cobb and Plunkett each received first team nods for the Bobcats on the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) team a few weeks ago. Plunkett, who claimed the goalkeeper slot with a 0.59 GAA and a .896 save percentage, is accompanied on the Daktronics' first team by four other PBC athletes, while Cobb has two other Peach Belt teammates.
