MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -The Georgia College & State University soccer team (10-5-6) claimed the ninth slots in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and the NCAA Regional Rankings, as announced by the organizations recently.
In the NSCAA list, the Bobcats climbed from the No. 10 spot to the No. 9 position this week after making it to the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament semifinals by beating North Georgia 2-1 during the quarterfinals.
In the NCAA Southeast Regional Rankings, Georgia College held its ground in the ninth slot for the second week in a row. With six teams going to the national tournament, Georgia College's four region poll appearances made it one of the teams up for consideration. However, the Bobcats losses early in the season put hopes for a second-straight NCAA tournament trip out of reach.
Despite a difficult schedule, this was the third-straight double-digit win season for the Bobcats. Georgia College continues to be one of the top teams in the Peach Belt, suffering just one loss in PBC play, and landing six players to the All-PBC teams this season, more than any other school.
