MARTINEZ, Ga. - Junior Mary Rob Plunkett (Augusta, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University soccer team (8-5-4, 4-1-3 PBC) took her second Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Goalkeeper of the Week award in a row as announced by the conference yesterday (Oct. 27). This is her fourth such honor for the 2009 campaign, just one shy of her 2008 mark.
Plunkett put up two shutouts in as many games this week, including an 11-save gem in the 0-0 tie with No. 3 Columbus State University Saturday. In the 1-0 victory against UNC Pembroke Wednesday, she tacked on five more saves. Plunkett has posted shutouts in each of her last four games. She is currently second in the PBC in goals against average with a 0.39 and leads the league in save percentage at .923 and shutouts with five.
The Bobcats are back in action tonight (Oct. 28) as they host Peach Belt opponent USC Aiken at 7 p.m. Georgia College will close out its regular season Saturday, Oct. 31 taking on the University of Montevallo for Senior Day at 4 p.m.
