MARTINEZ, Ga. - Junior Mary Rob Plunkett (Augusta, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University soccer team (7-5-3, 3-1-2 PBC) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the conference yesterday (Oct. 20). This is her third such honor for the 2009 campaign, just two shy of her 2008 mark.
Plunkett picked up her third shutout of the season, the seventh for the team, in a 2-0 road win at Flagler Saturday. The 6-foot-1 keeper made three saves in that game and extended her scoreless minutes streak to 251:11 with her second consecutive shutout. She continues to remain second in the PBC in both GAA and save percentage at 0.48 and .898 respectively.
The Bobcats are back in action tonight (Oct. 21) as they host Peach Belt foe UNC Pembroke at 5 p.m. for Life Enrichment Center Night at Bobcat Field.
