MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Junior Jessica Binkowski (Cumming, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University soccer team (2-0) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Goalkeeper of the Week as announced yesterday (Sept. 1). This is the first such honor given out by the PBC this season.
An all-conference defender a year ago, Binkowski recorded back-to-back shutouts in her first two collegiate games between the pipes. She made three saves in the 2-0 win over Queens (N.C.) University in the opener and four more in the 1-0 win over Florida Southern. She is one of two PBC keepers to not allow a goal with 180 minutes played.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Sept. 4, hosting the first Bobcat Shootout tournament as they take on Catawba College (0-0-1) in the home opener at 8 p.m. Catawba most recently tied Pfeiffer University 2-2 Aug. 29.
