MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Senior Kara Teresi (Tampa, Fla.) of the Georgia College & State University women's soccer team (4-3-1) was named the GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 20, the sports information office announced today (Sept. 20). This is Teresi's second such honor this season and the third for the women's soccer team.
Teresi found the net twice in the 3-2 overtime victory at West Georgia Friday. She netted the first strike off a rebound of Ally Treat's shot in the 15th minute. After West Georgia tied the game 2-2, Teresi supplied the game-winner in the second overtime, breaking away behind the defense for her second goal of the year, good for the team lead.
The Bobcats will be on the road Sept. 23 to play their first conference game against Georgia Southwestern (3-3, 0-0 PBC) at 5 p.m. The Bobcats defeated Georgia Southwestern 5-1 last season.
