MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University soccer team in conjunction with the university's Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) group, are set to sponsor "Operation Christmas Child Night" for the next two contests, Saturday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. against Columbus State University and Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. against USC Aiken.
Operation Christmas Child is an event working with Samaritan's Purse to distribute shoeboxes full of gifts for underprivileged youth worldwide. Suggested gifts are in the areas of school supplies, toys and hygiene items.
The FCA and women's soccer program at Georgia College will collect and ship the shoeboxes from individuals wishing to bring them to the next two home games.
