MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.) of the Georgia College women’s basketball team (12-3, 5-3 PBC) took home the Bobcat Athlete of the Week award for the second time in as many weeks, this time with two outstanding performances against Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foes.
Keys began the week by notching 29 points in an overtime-road loss at the University of North Georgia, and then followed that with a career-high 33 points in a win against GRU Augusta. She added 15 rebounds, four assists, and three steals to go along with her 62 points in a pair of games that left the Bobcats at 5-3 in the PBC and 12-3 overall.
Keys notched one of the best shooting weeks of her career, going 24-of-37 from the floor, 9-of-12 from the three-point line, and did not miss a free throw in either game. She is currently ranked 10th in the PBC in points-per-game with 14.7 and is just seven points away from the Bobcats’ No. 13 all-time spot.
