  • Bobcat Athletics Puts School-Record 130 on PBC Presidential Honor Roll

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 130 Georgia College student-athletes making the list, a school record. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2013-14 academic year.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Brandi McKinney (Cincinnati) has been named Georgia College Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. She was crucial in the Bobcats’ performance in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Women’s Basketball Tournament. It was Georgia Colleges’ first appearance in the PBC Tournament since 2011, when they won it all.

    The Georgia College women’s basketball team (18-10) will play Columbus State University (20-7) in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Championship Sunday, March 9, in Columbus, Ga. The West Division No. 4-seed Bobcats will take on the West Division’s No. 3-seed Cougars, who advanced after beating East Division No. 2-seed Flagler Thursday and West Division No. 1-seed and PBC Regular-Season Champion Clayton State University in the semifinals. The Bobcats return to the finals for the first time since 2011, when they defeated USC Aiken for GC Women’s Basketball’s seventh PBC Tournament Title. The rankings determine which teams get invited to the Division II National Tournament and they will continue to get updated as the March tournament approaches.

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (16-10, 9-10 PBC) got within three points in the game’s final 30 seconds twice against Armstrong Atlantic State University (20-6, 14-6 PBC) before dropping an 86-79 decision Saturday at Alumni Arena. The Bobcats got a good look at their Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament opponent next weekend as the team prepares for postseason play in a rematch against Armstrong.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (16-9, 9-9 PBC) broke open a close game in the final minutes to beat Lander University (11-16, 6-12 PBC), 73-66 Wednesday at the Centennial Center. Appropriately on Senior Night, senior Brandi McKinney (Cincinnati) was clutch in the closing minutes scoring 10 points in the game’s last five minutes.

    MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (15-9, 8- PBC) dropped its fifth-consecutive road game, this time at the University of Montevallo (8-16, 5-12 PBC), 80-71 Saturday afternoon at Trustmark Arena. Junior Enisha Donley (Loganville, Ga.) led the team in scoring for the third time this week, but it wasn’t enough as the Falcons shot 50 percent from the floor.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. – Two Georgia College women’s basketball players have been selected to the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team, while a third player was an Honorable Mention selection. Junior Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.), sophomore Kayla Upchurch (Alpharetta, Ga.), and sophomore Mckenna Rushton (Gainesville, Ga.) were selected, with the latter receiving honorable mention.

    TOWSON, Md. – Junior Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.) of the Georgia College women’s basketball team was selected today to the Division II Capital One Academic All-America Second Team. The only Academic All-American in Bobcats women’s basketball history, Keys is being honored for both her work in the classroom and on the court in consecutive seasons after making the Third Team last season.

Junior Enisha Donley (Loganville, Ga.) led the team and matched a career-high in points she set Monday against this same Lakers team.

Junior Enisha Donley (Loganville, Ga.) led the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (15-6, 8-6 PBC) rallied from a 13-point deficit before falling to Columbus State University (15-5, 10-4 PBC), 65-54 Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Center. The loss snapped the Bobcats’ current two-game win streak as Georgia College hoped to extend its winning streak during Homecoming weekend.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (15-5, 8-5 PBC) overcame a seven-point first-half deficit to beat Georgia Southwestern State University (8-13, 3-11 PBC), 76-62 Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Center. It was only the second time this season the team won a game when trailing at the half.
  • GC Women’s Basketball Team Scores 50 Second-Half Points in Win Over Montevallo, 87-52

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (14-5, 7-5 PBC) scored 50 second-half points and won by the biggest margin this season over the University of Montevallo (6-13, 3-9 PBC), 87-52 Wednesday at the Centennial Center. The 35-point margin was four points more than an early-season non-conference win in the Nighthawk Classic Tournament in November.
