AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released the Women’s Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team Monday. Representing Georgia College was sophomore guard Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.).
Keys was named PBC Freshman of the Year for the 2011-12 season, as well as making All-PBC Third Team. She averaged 16.6 points per game, first on the team and second in the league. Keys was also a PBC Gold Scholar and member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Also named to the Preseason All-Conference Team was the Jaymee Carnes of North Georgia University, Kayla Harris of USC Aiken, Drameka Griggs of Clayton State Univeristy and Mauri Wells of Armstrong.
Keys and the Bobcats will start their season Monday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. as they host Wesleyan College for an exhibition game before starting the regular season Saturday, Nov. 10 at 5:30 when GC hosts the University of West Georgia.
