AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Academic Women’s Basketball Team was announced Wednesday afternoon and sophomore standout Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.) was named to the squad.

This honor comes on the heels of Keys being named to the Capitol One Academic All-American and All-District teams. She may have received more attention recently for her free-throws, but she holds a 4.0 GPA as a mass communication major.

She joins fellow sophomores Kaycee Cash of Young Harris College, Jazmine Kemp of UNC Pembroke and Stephanie Huffman of the University of North Georgia; juniors of Breanna Gleeson of Young Harris and Brittany Hill of USC Aiken; seniors Mia Antoine and Daniela of USC Aiken, Jen Knurek of Flagler College, and Briana McFarland of Armstrong.

Fellow Bobcat sophomores Lisa Mitchell (Woodstock, Ga.) and Belinda Schaafsma (Momence, Ill.) both received Honorable Mentions.

The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, Feb. 28 when they play their final road game of the 2012-13 season at Lander University.
