Offensive Outburst Snags McKinney First Bobcat Athlete of the Week Award

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior guard Brandi McKinney (Cincinnati) has come on strong for the Georgia College women’s basketball team (8-3, 4-0 PBC) since returning from the holiday break. The junior guard averaged 16.5 points over the last week and was named Bobcat Athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 6.

Her week was highlighted by a 23-point effort in a win against the North Georgia Saints Saturday. Against the Saints, McKinney was 9-of-18 from the field and 5-of-9 from behind the arc. She capped her career-high scoring day with a last second basket to secure the 72-71 victory for the Bobcats.

McKinney attended Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Ill. and was born in Cincinnati. At Wabash Valley she was two-time All-Conference and a Third Team All-American during her last year.

McKinney and the Bobcats will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 10 when they face off against Flagler College at 5:30 p.m. in the Centennial Center.
