GC Basketball Hosts Students from Early Learning Center

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s and women’s basketball programs, along with head women’s coach Maurice Smith, invited students from the Early Learning Center in Milledgeville, Ga. to take part in a one day camp at the Centennial Center Friday morning.
Over 30 youngsters took to the court, participating in shooting drills, games and other fun activities.
Members of the GC basketball teams were in attendance to help give the kids a few pointers throughout.
“It’s our second year hosting the Early Learning Center and I can’t express the importance of the event for the kids in our community,” said coach Smith. “These children look up to some of these student-athletes and it gives them an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with them in a different atmosphere.”
“Thunder” the Bobcat mascot also made a star-studded appearance, entertaining the kids for the morning and even playing a game of Bobcat duck-duck goose.
Overall, the event was very successful and something many of these kids wouldn’t trade for anything.
