MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman guard Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.) of the Georgia College women’s basketball team (2-6, 0-1 PBC) was named the Bobcat Athlete of the Week, the GC sports information office announced Tuesday. This marks the first such honor for both Keys and the Bobcat women this season.
Keys led the Bobcats with 18 points in the loss at North Georgia Wednesday. She hit a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line, adding a team-best five assists.
The Bobcats host the Stair South, Inc. Holiday Classic Friday, Dec. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 31. GC will square-off against No. 19 Tusculum College Friday before taking on Limestone College Saturday.
