MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball program and head coach Maurice Smith are set to host a free youth clinic and then three of the top teams in Division II women’s basketball, all as part of the Stair South Inc. Holiday Week Dec. 29-31.
The free youth clinic for kids in the community will be Dec. 29 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Centennial Center. Free and open to children in the community from ages six to 12, the clinic will split into different stations incorporating drills to help young children learn the fundamentals of basketball. These drills will include but are not limited to shooting, dribbling and passing.
“This is a great opportunity for our program to reach out to kids in the community,” said Smith. “It gives the children a chance to interact with our student-athletes and gives our players a chance to give back to the community.
