by Matthew Dalby, sports information graduate assistant

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College women’s basketball team and head coach Maurice Smith are proud to announce the recent signing of Mikalyn DeFoor, a senior guard from Gainesville, Ga.

DeFoor was named to the First Team 8-AAA All-Region and has led her team to three-consecutive Region 8-AAA Championships, with two Sweet 16 State Playoff appearances.

A four-year starter under head coach Manson Hill, Mikalyn brings a wealth of experience to the Bobcats squad.  She averaged 10 points a game, while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the free throw line.

“Mikalyn is an excellent shooter,” said Smith. “She has the ability to make plays and has a fantastic work ethic that will be an asset to the program.”

DeFoor plans to major in chemistry/pre-medicine when she arrives at Georgia College.
