MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team and head coach Maurice Smith announced the signing of Terryuana Godwin Friday.
“Terryuana is an exceptional athlete,” said Smith. “Not only will she will bring tons of energy and excitement to our program, but she is also a great person on and off the court. She will bring those intangibles that we value such as a good work ethic, great attitude and willingness to become better player.”
A native of LaGrange, Ga., Godwin played under head coach Jan Jones for the Grangers. Godwin earned Region Player of the Year honors and was also a WRBL Student-Athlete of the Week as LaGrange High recorded a 21-3 record in her senior season.
She plans to major in biology.
The Bobcats finished 22-7 with an 11-6 PBC mark. GC won the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. The Bobcats had two All-PBC selections, including Daktronics Third Team All-American Chimere Jordan (2009-11).
