MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior guard Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) of the Georgia College women's basketball team (20-6) was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27. This is the fifth such honor for both Jordan and the Bobcat women this season.
Jordan had another phenomenal week. She aided the Bobcats to a 2-0 record shooting 21-of-38 (.553) from the field and averaged 26.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. In a 60-45 victory over the University of Montevallo, Jordan recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 25 points and 17 boards. She shot 10-of-17 (.588) from the field and 4-of-7 from the charity stripe.
She scored 28 points and grabbed seven caroms leading GC to a 74-59 win over North Georgia. Jordan shot 11-of-21 (.524), dished out three assists and had three steals.
The Bobcats beat Columbus State University 63-45 tonight in the opening round of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament, and will move on to Saturday's semifinal round against No. 4 Lander University Saturday, March 5 at 1 p.m.
