Jordan Garners Second PBC Player of the Week Honors

MARTINEZ, Ga. – Georgia College women’s basketball senior Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) received her second Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week honor for the week ending Feb. 28, as announced by the conference. This is her fourth overall weekly conference award.  

Jordan had another phenomenal week. She aided the Bobcats to a 2-0 record shooting 21-of-38 (.553) from the field and averaging 26.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. In a 60-45 victory over the University of Montevallo, Jordan recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 25 points and 17 boards. She shot 10-of-17 (.588) from the field and 4-of-7 from the charity stripe.

She scored 28 points and grabbed seven caroms leading GC to a 74-59 win over North Georgia. Jordan shot 11-of-21 (.524), dished out three assists and had three steals. With 531 points this season, Jordan now sits just eight behind Lisa Havior (1989-90) for fifth on Georgia College's single season scoring list. She also has 999 career points in just two seasons.

Next up for the Bobcats is the PBC Tournament, as GC will be hosting a first-round matchup at the Centennial Center, pairing up against Columbus State University Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the semifinals, which will take play in Aiken, S.C. Saturday, March 5.
