INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team (22-6) was awarded the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament as announced by the NCAA Sunday, March 6.
GC capped off an unbelievable season rattling off seven wins and capturing the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Championship Title. The Bobcats upended No. 4 Lander University in the semifinals, 71-62 and then defeated No. 12 USC Aiken in the championship bout, 62-49.
The ‘Cats will face off against Barton University who received an automatic bid winning the Conference Carolinas Tournament Friday, March 11. More details to come later in the week.
Other PBC teams that made the tournament were No. 1 Clayton State University with the one seed, Lander with the two seed, USC Aiken with the three seed and Francis Marion University with the eight seed, respectively.
