INDIANAPOLIS - After winning six straight games the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team (13-4, 6-1 PBC) made an appearance in the first NCAA Southeast Region Poll this season ranked at sixth. The region polls are used to determine the at-large teams for the NCAA Tournament.
The Bobcats are one of five Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools listed in the Southeast Regional Rankings. Georgia College falls in behind PBC members Lander University, who is atop the region, Clayton State University at third and Francis Marion University at fifth. Columbus State University takes the ninth position.
Georgia College faces No. 17 Francis Marion University Friday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at home in the Centennial Center. The theme for the night is "It's All About Prevention" sponsored by the Athletic Trainers Student Organization, featuring multiple raffles and contests.
